1. Next Meeting

A candidate forum for the statewide races (Gov., Lt. Gov., US Senate, and Comptroller) is now scheduled for Saturday, May 8, 2010 from 8:30am to 12:30pm at the Rusty Rail. I learned of more candidates this week. You should receive a mailing with further information shortly. The forum has been modified such that it is now the CNY Regional Forum for Statewide Candidates (rather than an official meeting of our own committee). We will be joined by some GOP committee representatives from neighboring CNY counties. I hope you can make it for some part or all of the forum.

2. Republican Women of CNY Fundraiser

“An evening with “KT” McFarland” is scheduled for Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the Holiday Inn, 7th North/441 Electronics Parkway, Liverpool, New York from 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. This is a fundraiser for Republican Women of CNY and tickets are $75.00; if interested, RSVP by May 5, 2010 to Carole Marsh at 471-2020 or cmarsh@cnygop.com.

Ms. McFarland has held national security posts in the Nixon, Ford, and Reagan Administrations, served as an aide to Dr. Henry Kissinger on the NSC Staff, was a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee Staff, was the Senior Speechwriter to Secretary of Defense Caspar Weinberger and later the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense and Pentagon Spokesman. “KT” McFarland appears regularly on FOX News and FOX Business News. She is the host of DEFCON 3 on FOXNews.com; one of the most watched national security shows online. Ms. McFarland is also the national security commentator for several radio programs on FOX, ABC, WMAL, and WVOX.

3. Hamilton Village Market Booth

Last year the Town of Hamilton Committee sponsored a booth at the Saturday Morning Hamilton Market and they were very kind to share it with our countywide committee and candidates who joined in on several Saturdays. This is something we may want to consider doing this summer as a committee. Is anyone interested in organizing and overseeing the booth this summer? It is good exposure for our candidates and I expect the competition will do it. Let me know if you are interested in organizing this endeavor. If there is no interest, we will not do it.

• City of Oneida Committee Annual Golf Outing -August 13, 2010 at Oneida Community Golf Club, Oneida, NY.
• Town of Sullivan Committee Annual Golf Outing -September 9, 2010 at Woodcrest Golf Club, Chittenango, NY.
• Annual Dinner – October 20, 2010 at the Rusty Rail; 6pm cocktails; 7pm dinner. I still need a Dinner Chair to oversee the planning, etc. Please let me know if you can help.
