Bargabos to Announce Candidacy for 111th Assembly District Seat April 6th
Vice Chairman for the Madison County Board of Supervisors and Town of Smithfield Supervisor says, “It’s Time to Bring Common Sense Back to State Government.”
Peterboro, NY, April 5, 2010- Rick Bargabos, Vice Chairman for the Madison County Board of Supervisors and Town of Smithfield Supervisor, will announce his candidacy for the New York Assembly in the 111th District as he visits each of the three counties within the district on Tuesday April 6, 2010. Bargabos will start his announcement and district tour at 9:00 a.m. in Oneonta at City Hall, 258 Main St. where he will declare his intent to challenge incumbent, Assemblyman William Magee. At 10:30 a.m., Bargabos will talk about his candidacy at the Otsego County Courthouse on Main Street in Cooperstown. At 1:30 p.m., he will visit the City offices in Sherrill at 377 Sherrill Road, and he will conclude his announcement tour with remarks at 3:30 p.m. in front of the Madison County Courthouse, North Court St., in Wampsville. According to Bargabos, “The obvious dysfunctional condition of our state government and the continued loss of the core values and principles of good government are very troubling to me and most citizens of this district. Burdensome regulations, irresponsible government spending that has created massive debt and questionable investments in many social programs at the expense of future growth, leaves our state with no choice but to place a greater burden of its debt and responsibility on fewer and fewer people. People are leaving New York State in droves and New York can not continue to function like this. We can do better. We deserve better. Our children deserve better.” Bargabos continued, “Unless a wholesale and massive change occurs at the polls on Election Day, November 2, 2010, those legislators already in office will assume that the voters are satisfied with the direction they have taken New York State. They will also see their re-election as a validation of their prior actions including those that have significantly harmed the people and our state’s future. I am willing to dedicate myself to restoring the Albany we deserve.” Rick Bargabos is seeking endorsements from the Republican, Conservative and Independence parties.
